The reality is that there are fixed matches – any football or NBA fan knows this – but they are not discernible on the Internet. There are, however, many scammers that claim to have fixed matches. I’ve been in the betting industry long enough and have seen people make ridiculous wagers on a supposed fixed match and ruin their bankrolls. Bookmakers also benefit from this, remember, if a so called fixed match gets public, which it often does, people tend to make big money wagers on this.

Do Fixed Matches Really Exist?

Again, the answer is YES, they do! But it’s highly unlikely that you or me or some public-access bettors’ forum will have it. You have to remember that, while match fixing is out there, it’s not within our reach. Even FIFA, with their massive resources, have problems with trying to prove what was fixed and what wasn’t. These days, match fixing is a business operated mostly by Asian mobsters, syndicates that pay a lot of money for some match to be rigged. You may find something shady when watching a certain match, but for sure, you’ll rarely find information of this before the match.

But My Friend Won an Odd 30 Match …

Yes, he did! Let’s use this example as a lesson on how scammers operate. They will usually have a Facebook profile, their own website, or even a forum where they sell “fixed matches.” After you pay, they’ll send you a message that will look like this: “Real Madrid is playing versus Barcelona.” They get 10 buyers, they tell one buyer it’s going to be 2/1, to another one 1/2, one gets x/1, one x/2, and so on. And for the sake of the argument, let’s say the match goes 2/1 (so Real 0, Barcelona 1 at halftime, and at fulltime, Real 2, Barcelona 1). Remember, this is totally random, those people who received 2/1 will be very happy, but the scammer will ditch the others or give them a free next match in hopes of getting lucky next time. Now these bettors who supposedly won the fixed match will buy at least two more matches from this guy before giving up, especially if they’re new and naïve. Meanwhile, after the “fixed” match is complete, the price for the following match will go up, probably double. Another thing that should tip you off about that hypothetical message is the sides: Real Madrid and Barcelona are too big to fail; they make too much money legitimately to be entangled in schemes off of which punters can profiteer. Fixed matches are nearly always low-level football games in small countries, like Georgia. Even there, bookmakers will impose hard caps on the amount you can bet, to limit liability. If too many suspicious wagers keep coming in, the bookie will close the market or even void and refund the bets.

I hope this clarifies the topic of fixed matches. You should never believe anyone that claims to have fixed match, because 99.99999 % of the time it’ll be a scam. You can’t prove that it’s a scam, sure, but the onus should be on the tipsters to prove that it’s not a scam. And they can’t prove that, either. Sports betting is hard work! http://sportpredictiongenius..com.ng/2015/12/fixed-matches-myth-or-reality.html?m=1: Those juicy matches with odd 30 HT / FT? Well, sorry – it’s not going to happen. Ask yourself this: Why would someone sell an odd 30 match for 50-100 € or even 1000 €?
