Luckily, the human body is already flexible at that age, and the benefits of practitioner-assisted stretching become more important after puberty. Children with cerebral palsy are the one notable exception. Passive stretching is good for them because it helps relieve discomfort. If you feel your child could benefit from passive stretching, you should speak with a physical therapist.
