If you're familiar with UNO, you know how widely contested the rules are. Whether you believe UNO is one of the best card games ever or you’re just a casual player, you’ve probably gotten into some heated discussions about the rules of the game before. (We sure have!) One of the most widely contested game moves revolves around stacking a UNO Draw 4 card. The brand recently clarified the draw 4 rules in UNO, and let’s just say you’re in for a surprise.

What are the Draw 4 rules in Uno?

If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped. You can’t put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6. We know you’ve tried it. #UNO pic.twitter.com/wOegca4r0h — UNO (@realUNOgame) May 4, 2019 There you have it folks: You’re not allowed to stack an Uno Draw 4 card. Not even with a Draw 2 card, which is often put down so the next person draws six. We know what you’re thinking: Can’t I stack another Draw 4 card on top? The answer, unfortunately, is no. Here’s the correct way to play the game: If someone places down a UNO Draw 4 card, you must draw four and your turn gets skipped. However, once the player is skipped, the next person can stack a Draw 4 or Draw 2 UNO card on it. Of course, this news is shocking—after all, we’ve been playing the game for decades and skirting the rules since then. But now that UNO has clarified the rule with an official statement, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get by using the same old tricks. Keep in mind that these rules specifically apply to the physical UNO game. If you’re playing the mobile version, there are custom rules you must adhere to.

What other rules have you been getting wrong?

Now that you’ve discovered the true rules of the Draw 4 card, you might be curious about what other rules you’ve been getting wrong. UNO also stated that you can’t stack a Draw 4 UNO card on a Draw 2 either. The same goes for a Draw 2; you can’t stack another Draw 2 on top of it.

Wondering if you’ve been playing any other games wrong? We get it. Did you know that when playing Monopoly, for instance, you don’t need to complete an entire lap around the board before you can start buying a property?

Or in Scrabble, you’re allowed to completely skip a turn and wait for a more opportune time to use your letters? It’s true! Next time you’re about to get started playing a game, your best bet is to read the instructions closely—or you could end up missing out on some valuable information.

Why is 2-7 off suit the worst hand in poker?

A 2-7 offsuit hand is the worst hand to start with in Texas Hold 'Em poker because there are so few good options available to you: you have no straight draw, no flush draw, and even if you wind up with a pair of 7s or a pair of 2s, you're unlikely to have the best hand.

At the begging of each round of Texas Hold 'Em poker, you are dealt two cards. These are your hole cards or starting hand. Those hole cards can eventually be used with the cards revealed in the flop, turn and river to assemble a (hopefully) winning hand. After you are dealt your starting cards, there is a round of betting. At this point, players look at their hold cards and choose to check, bet or fold. Anyone who doesn't fold after viewing his hole cards then sees the three flop cards. Another round of betting occurs before the turn card is dealt. A round of betting also precedes the river card. There is then one more round of betting, and the best five-card hand wins. That hand may or may not contain the hole cards. Some starting two-card hands are more likely to work well with the other cards in the deck than others. Of all the possible starting hands you can be dealt in Texas Hold 'Em, the following five hands are the least welcome. If you're dealt one of these hands, there are almost no circumstances in which you should play them. If you see these particular card combinations in your starting hand, your best option is to fold 'em.
