What Does The Bible Say About Trusting God In Difficult Time

In reflection of these past several years, I’ve realized letting go will hurt just as much as the growth ahead – just not in the same way. I would not go back and change the decisions I’ve made. (I used Bible verses about trusting in God, printable below, to help me every step of the way.) I’ve learned that I am stronger and more capable than I ever realized or led to believe. Through many tears, prayers, being confused and angry at God, and then sobbing broken at His feet – it has been so hard but yet so good at the same time! I’ve remained debt-free, bills all paid, have a roof over the kid’s head, food on the table, clothes on their backs, and much more. I don’t have much but I am blessed! I’ve had family and friends come and go. I’ve had many hurtful comments tossed my way and yet I’ve been given some very encouraging words as well. I’ve been misled and betrayed by people I trusted. But God in His mercy brought into my life people that spoke truth, love and guidance to help me move forward. I’m thankful for Him meeting me where I was and holding me together during the dark days. I’m thankful for the friends that didn’t leave or speak badly of me through all this.

I’m thankful that God somehow provided for my kids and I, faithfully!

I’m so grateful for the growing pains and heartache that put me at the feet of God. I’m thankful for God teaching me to trust in Him on the good and bad days.

Trusting God, especially during hard times, takes daily intentional work. but don’t rely solely on your own willpower. “We live in a world where trust must be earned and seems to be in short supply. But Solomon, the famous king who wrote Proverbs, knew that trust is exactly where we must start: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) Most of us have faced disappointments, which have taught us that we can only depend upon ourselves. But living the life God has called us to means unlearning that lesson. Instead, we’re meant to rest in God’s understanding.

We may know in our minds that He possesses all wisdom:

Yes, we will walk through trials. Life can be very hard. It’s painful. Unfair at times. But let’s remember who we are and who the Author of our life is!! Do your part, take care of what you have to take care of on your end, and then leave the rest to God.

You can not change anyone else. You are not the Holy Spirit.

Worry and being anxious about a situation is like telling God and everyone around you that you don’t trust God and He isn’t big enough to take care of your life. Stand firmly in God’s Word, read bible verses about trusting God daily. Submit to God in prayer daily. Work towards breaking free from strongholds by using the weapons God gave us…. read the statement above. Learn to get unstuck. Put in the healing work. God has a whole life of amazing opportunities ahead of you. This thing that has you down shouldn’t not be allowed to take over your life.

No matter what we go through, it is worth it. It will have an eternal award if we stay the course – clinging to God. It is not for nothing. So we grieve and cry, then we stand up, putting on the Armor of God and stand firmly in the truth of God preaching to our own hearts and minds. Reminder: ANYTHING that puts itself before God in your mind is a stronghold in your life. If you think about it or worry about it more than you praise God – than it is a stronghold.

Prayerless lives are powerless lives.

Until we turn from what hinders us in our walk with God, making a 180 turn around and return God to the center of our lives we will not walk in freedom. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! 2 Corinthians 3:17 We will never win any spiritual battle without prayer, but when the heat of battle has momentarily cooled, the plunder from the battle is far greater intimacy with God. The most monumental leap we take toward freedom is the leap to our knees – the lordship of Jesus Christ. So, let’s stand firm in these bible verses about trusting God, putting on the armor of God, and using the weapons He has given us. Moving forward with Christ within us and His praises on our lips!
