By Gambling Insider Despite winning $18m on the roulette wheel, using his lucky number 11, the Canadian musician blew a chunk of his wealth on Stake.com, an operator with which he recently partnered. The loss of $20m, while astronomical to most, won’t concern the 35-year-old too much. As estimated by Forbes, he earned $49m in 2020 alone and has amassed a net worth of $200m from a string of record deals, sponsorships and commercial collaborations. Drake launched his collaboration with Stake.com last month, with this being his first Twitch live stream with the operator since. In total, the crypto fan gave away 35 Bitcoins during the Twitch stream, with viewers selected at random to receive prizes as large as $75,000. Some of the winners hailed from Argentina, India, Mexico, Brazil and Jordan, as well as in Drake’s Canadian homeland. Since launching in 2017, Stake.com has become a leading crypto operator in sports betting and iGaming. It has entered partnerships with the likes of recently relegated Premier League club Watford, footballer Sergio Aguero and the UFC. Stake.com’s collaboration with Drake hit the headlines recently when he won $2.6m on a parlay wager, just one of the multi-million-dollar bets placed on the platform. Drake made the news again during the most recent round of F1 racing, placing $230k on Charles Leclerc to win the Spanish Grand Prix before the driver was forced to retire. Despite his monumental losses during his debut Twitch stream with Stake.com, the rapper did end on a high note, winning $1m by predicting the Golden State Warriors would win the Western Conference NBA decider. Stake.com has confirmed Drake will return for future live streaming appearances, with further crypto gifts to be given away.
