GPA's are calculated for about 3 years (up to junior year) and then colleges see your current/projected GPA as you apply to colleges. Making sure you take as many advanced classes or making sure you do well NOW and especially your junior year will help you have a better chance of admission.

Making sure you take as many advanced classes or making sure you do well NOW and especially your junior year will help you have a better chance of admission. However, colleges do like to see an upward trend with your grades, meaning you improved your grades each year. So, if you didn't do as well your freshman year, that's OK! If your grades are getting better it looks really good on your applications! Best of luck :)
