You may not have known, but playing darts is more than just fun — it can actually be good for you! Playing a game of darts certainly provides a couple of wonderful benefits. Here are some of the great health benefits you can have from active fun.

Improved Brain Function

How can darting help your brain function? Playing darts challenges your brain in a number of ways, and increases aim and hand-eye coordination. Getting a bull’s eye takes practice and a lot of brainpower! Consistently playing darts is fantastic mental exercise. In fact, it exercises the largest part of your brain: the cerebrum. The cerebrum is the part of your brain that controls voluntary muscles and thinking. So when you take aim with your dart, you’re challenging your muscles to work together with your analytic skills to get a bull’s eye. And that will help your brain muscles stay healthy and strong.

Stress Levels Decrease

Let’s face it — playing darts is fun. Especially if you host a game night with your friends and family. This quality time spent with loved ones is a great way to de-stress while having fun at the same time. De-stressing also provides all kinds of health benefits like lowering your blood pressure and experiencing less anxiety. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as your physical health, so set aside time in your busy schedule to let loose and play some darts! Do yourself a favor; play a healthy game of darts! We have a wide selection of darts and many other games here at The Pool People. Why do my darts go low?

Are you following through with your arm properly? Try and make sure you follow all the way through when throwing, with your arm/hand pointing where you're aiming. All these things are factors when it comes to wayward darts. Hope this helps.

Hey all,

I know there probably isn't a quick fix for this but thought someone may have had the same problem and sorted it out somehow. I've played darts for a number of years but only at home so I'm not of any particularly high standard, used lots of sets in that time as well (yeah I know I should stick to one setup, that's for the new year) but one thing which I do constantly is drop low of the target. If I am managing to keep a straight line I'll often be putting three in the small section of the 20 and even deliberately trying to put three in the big 20 I'll end up low. I've tried using heavier darts from 22g to 26g, I've tried using different flights and I've tried just aiming a bit higher or throwing harder which seems to just result in pulling them left or they go too high above treble 20. I'd say 70% of my darts are going low. Most likely the answer will be just pick a set of darts, stick with them and practise but the problem is I feel like I'm aiming in the right place and throwing with the correct power but go short so it is very difficult to change what feels natural and correct even though the result isn't. I'm using 22g straight barrels by the way, they seem ok, I can throw pretty much any shape anyway, I throw them all as bad as each other lol
