Read More »Leave. I've bravely ditched my pathological gambler. As a result I'm bringing up my 11 month old boy alone. I'm sick of the mood swings. The silences. The feeling sorry for self. The projection. The lies. The sneaking off. Also he was abusive. He tried hard to make me feel it was my fault. He started to raise his voice (new) more often. I saw pre cursors to violence. Little things like throwing a pen lid at the table in close range while glaring at me (very controlled) he began saying more sarcastic comments aimed at me. He always was quite sarcy but never in five years had it been aimed at me. He started to get funny when the baby cried it made me doubt my own ability and he acted like he should come first which confused me for a bit. I carried on with a brave face. But I've been through domestic abuse before and I've done the freedom programme and my grandad was murdered due to gambling depts. So I know my Oats. I'm a multi time surviver. I decided that the whole of March I had spent trying to help and care about my ex. I was exhausted permanently shaking and Id lost sight of myself. I was waiting for my partner to turn up. He was two hours late by this point. He arrived... I demanded £30 hardly much to him. After all he can afford £800 in ladbrokes and £1200 in casino's! And he was moaning how he wanted to 'chill out' (lol hello, mum to an 11 month old!) then he raised his voice. Enough was enough I sent him outward through the garden gate so my lovely sleeping son wouldn't hear about it. And my nasty ex had to do the walk of shame past my neighbour who was fixing his car little did he know it I had just opened up to him about my exs gabling problem! Because I had felt ashamed so I decided to tell my neighbours and I instantly knew it had been a good idea to do so because it shifted the blame to him!! And the look te car fixing neighbour gave to my ex as he walked by was priceless. I've also got the lovely realisation that my ex has the problem. I'm free. The thing with my ex is there were huge relationship issues already and I wasn't sure and I was nearly always in tears and let down by him and I felt neglected by him anyway. He used to use slot machines in bookies. Then it was casino.... But then it became football. He never cares for football previously. And I found this such a seedy thing. Also its never done because you place bet then you must wait for the result. So it's more of a cycle. With the other things you play loose amd leave. But this you never plus its online so its a bookies in your pocket. I find it so seedy. He's dumped. I'm brave. I've not missed being bullied amd having my life wrecked as yet! I'm.
