In the women’s edition, a total of 20 teams have taken part in a Rugby World Cup with Fiji set to join the ranks at New Zealand 2021. Only four of these teams – Canada, England, France and USA – have played in every edition to date. New Zealand are the most successful team with five Rugby World Cup titles, including four in a row from 1998-2010 when they won all 19 matches played. England (two) and USA (one) are the only other champions with the Red Roses losing in the final on five occasions. France have reached the semi-finals on seven occasions but are yet to reach the title decider.
