After a year of being tied up in legal battles, there may finally be light at the end of the tunnel for Florida sports betting. The Sunshine State got a tease of how popular Florida mobile sports betting could be in November 2021, but operations were forced to seize because of an ongoing battle with the Seminole Tribe, who controls in-person casino gambling and pari-mutuel horse racing in the state. Legal proceedings kept sports betting at a standstill in 2022, but now it looks like the case will be on the docket in 2023. If things go smoothly, sports betting in Florida could be legalized once again. How to bet on sports in Florida when legalized

If Florida online sports betting returns, there are multiple ways sports fans in the Sunshine State can wager on their favorite sports teams and leagues. Here are some examples: Outright: The easiest bet to place, this betting style requires you to select one side to win an entire sporting event. This is an especially popular betting style for wagering on golf tournaments, title fights and car races. Player prop: A prop bet focuses on outcomes other than the final score of a game, and this variety focuses on player performance. Commonly-placed player props involve how many touchdown passes a quarterback will throw or how many three-point shots a basketball player will make. Parlay: This is a high-risk, high-reward betting style which involves having two or more teams in one wager. If you bet $100 on a four-team parlay at 11-1 odds, that bet could return $1,100 if all four sides win. But if three or fewer sides win, the bet is a loser.

What are the types of options spread strategies?

There are three main types of options spread strategy: vertical, horizontal and diagonal. A vertical spread strategy – sometimes known as a money spread – uses two options with identical expiry dates but different strike prices. A vertical spread strategy enables traders to limit their downside risk, but in doing so, they also cap their upside potential. This is explained in the example below. A horizontal spread strategy – also called a calendar spread – uses long and short options with identical strike prices but different expiry dates. The primary aim of a calendar spread is to profit from the effects of time decay on two different expiry options. Time decay – or theta – is a measure of how much an option’s price declines over time. This is because options that are nearing their expiry date are more susceptible to time decay than longer-term options. As a result, in a horizontal spread strategy a trader can use a long-term option to offset any losses incurred if a short-term option is looking likely to expire worthless, and potentially still profit from the longer-term option. A diagonal spread strategy involves simultaneously entering into long and short positions with two options of the same type, but with different strike prices and expiries. Diagonal spreads make use of time decay like a horizontal spread, but they also benefit from any movements in an option’s price for every point of movement in the underlying market – known as delta.
