What Are Vigilante Missions And How to Start Them

Vigilante Missions, like all other Side Missions, are available from the start of the game. All you need is a law enforcement vehicle. The list of usable Vehicles is as follows:

Loading Play

Once you've acquired one of these, activate Vigilante missions, and a red marker will appear on your mini-map. This is your initial POI. Then, head there and be prepared to take out a moving target.

How to Complete Vigilante Missions

There are two optimal methods to completing this mission:

Using a HPV-1000 and stocking up on LOTS of SMG ammo, preferably at least 2000 rounds. This allows you to drive by your targets and unload on their vehicles and blow them up. However, this method does rely heavily on your ability on a bike, your ability to shoot whilst steering and leaves you vulnerable to return fire and/or the inevitable wanted level that comes along with the later stages of this mission. If all of these caveats are a bit daunting, there's a far easier method to completing the mission (though it does require extra preparation). This second method, as just mentioned, makes reaching Level 12 in the Vigilante Mission a piece of cake. It does, however, require some extra legwork to access. A Hunter helicopter and its miniguns make light work of all escaping vehicles and traverse the distance between them in seconds. To acquire the vehicle, though, you will need to Gold all Pilot School Missions. Even with this barrier, it is highly recommended you put in the work to get the Golds. The Hunter will spawn at your airstrip purchased during the "Verdant Meadows" mission in Las Venturas. You will need to chase down your target on the mini-map and open fire. Do NOT use your missiles, it's far too risky. However, with the miniguns, they will often lock on to the target even if you aren't fully aligned, so don't be afraid to let loose. This method with the Hunter also appears to decrease the severity of your wanted level, particularly if you're quickly going from target to target and maintaining a decent altitude.

A few levels into the mission, you will receive multiple targets in the same location and later numerous targets in different areas late. Don't fret here, you should have plenty of time to spare, and each elimination with generously refill your remaining time.

Rewards For Completing Vigilante Missions

Whilst the Vigilante Missions can technically continue for as long as you wish, the main reward you are looking for will arrive with the completion of Level 12. As you can see in the image below, you will receive $7,200 from this stage alone, and more importantly, you will have your maximum body armor raised to 150%. This bonus coupled with the Maximum Health increase from the Paramedic Missions is a potent combination and will serve you greatly as you approach difficult late-game missions. Continue hunting down criminals if you wish; if not... Congratulations! You have finished up Vigilante Missions!

If you've quit drinking, what do you order at the bar when you go out for drinks with friends?

Here's a list that I've been crowdsourcing from Twitter. Feel free to print it out (or copy and paste it into your Notes app) so you never feel stuck with what to order.

Non-alcoholic drinks you can order at the bar

Club soda with a splash of cranberry juice (very little sugar, easy to drink) Club soda + lime Club soda + Blackcurrant Club soda + bitters and lime Virgin Caesar's [Bloody Mary] (I order them spicy) Kombucha (if they have it on tap) Spirit-free cocktails Iced tea Arnold Palmer A Roy Rogers (made with Coke and grenadine syrup, and topped with a maraschino cherry) Seltzer with bitters Coconut water Non-alcoholic beer Virgin Michelada Virgin Mojito Virgin Moscow Mule Grapefruit-Schorle (it's not as sweet as Apfelschorle) Cold brew nitro coffee Oolong tea 0% beer

I quit drinking on January 1st, 2019.

I originally did it as a way of reaching a revenue goal for my business. But after we hit the goal, I kept going. I just feel better. I'm sleeping better, I'm more alert during the day, and feel less moody. Another bonus: I'm saving a lot of money. (A typical "night out for drinks" used to cost me ~$50, but now generally costs me $20, including food!)

I hope this is helpful,

Justin Jackson, @mijustin
