The GPA calculator can help you determine if you are eligible for scholarships, programs such as Honours or admission to other universities.

How it works

Grades Value HD High Distinction 7 D Distinction 6 C Credit 5 P Pass 4 UP Ungraded pass 4* F Fail 0 *Ungraded passes (UP) are not usually included in the calculation of a GPA, for exceptions see the GPA Calculation Guideline. 2. Enter the total units for each grade and click on calculate GPA Total number of units studied High Distinction units Distinction units Credit units Pass units Fail units Your Grade Point Average (GPA) (your GPA is under 4. If you have any Ungraded Passes please add to your total Pass units and recalculate) Note: This calculator should be used as a guide only and is an estimate of your GPA. An official Verification of GPA letter can be purchased online for $20 through the Student Payments system.

She received a Credit in 15 courses worth 10 units each (150 units), Distinction in 7 courses worth 10 units each (70 units) and a High Distinction in 1 course worth 20 units (20 units). Sally Failed one of her courses too (10 units). Typically, courses are 10 units, however some are 20 units. You can check the number of units in your course through the course handbook.

What does a 2 2 mean in university?

Lower Second-Class Honours Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1, 2. i) (60-70%) Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2, 2. ii) (50-60%) Third-Class Honours (Third or 3rd) (40-50%)

The university grading system will be different from what you’re used to. When you start at university, any mark over 50% is a great grade. Getting a mark over 50% means that you are beginning to understand the difficult work of your degree. Getting over 60% is excellent because it means you have demonstrated a deep knowledge of your subject to the marker. You may be used to getting marks of 90–100%, but this is very unlikely to happen at university. Remember that marks in the 50–70% range are perfectly normal. Your grades will improve as you get used to working at university level, and in the style required by your degree subject.
