Bricks have been a constant staple of an inmates diet. If you don't know what a brick is it consists of 2 main ingredients: one package of ramen noodles (flavor of your choosing) and one back of chips (flavor of your choosing). While those are the the base ingredients, advanced recipes may incorporate proteins, cheese, or any other jail house scraps you could find.

How does an inmate concoct this delicious masterpiece you ask?

Step 1: Take your ramen noodles and crush the noodles in the bag. Be careful to only open one end and avoid rips in the bag as those will hinder your cooking process in later steps Step 2: Crush chips within bag. Be careful with this bag, too, in case you somehow managed to fail on step one -- the easiest step in the process. Step 3: This is the time to dice up your extra ingredients such slim jims, cheese sticks, left over cafeteria sausage... you know, the usual. Step 4: Combine all ingredients, including seasonings and sauces, into the which ever bag hasn't been destroyed. If they're both in working condition, use the bigger bag. --> The higher the chip to noodle ratio, the more solid your brick will be Step 5: In the words of Andre 3000, SHAKE IT LIKE A POLAROID PICTURE. Mix the ingredients up real nice in your bag. Step 6: Take your foam cup, fill it in the sink, and warm it in the microwave for one minute. If the struggle is that real and you don't have a microwave, just use the hottest water you can find.

---> The hotter the water, the faster the cooking time

Step 7: Pour your hot water into the bag

***THE LEVEL OF WATER IS HIGHLY IMPORTANT***

When pouring into the bag, if you can see the water, you've gone too far and your seasonings will leak out. Then you're cleaning up a mess and the CO is pissed. Step 8: Roll or seal your bag and compress it with a heavy object. Usually a book. If you've overfilled your bag, this is when it'll leak out Step 9: Sit until it feels almost soft to the touch... time depends on how hot the water is. Usually it'll take around 3-5 minutes.
