Shop Rules - General Rules

Bets placed in Paddy Power shops are covered by the Paddy Power Betting Rules. These are available on the Rules and Conditions section of the Paddy Power website and in any Paddy Power shop. This section (Shop Rules) relates specifically to bets placed in Paddy Power shops only. Where there is a conflict between the rules in this section and the rules in other sections, the rules in this section will take precedence for bets placed in Paddy Power shops. Paddy Power reserves the right to refuse any person entry to any or all Paddy Power shops at any time. Anyone behaving in an offensive nature or causing a disturbance will be asked to leave. It is against the law for any person under the age of 18 to enter this shop. In the event of a person under 18 entering the shop, they will be asked to leave. In an instance where any bets were accepted inadvertently from a person who is under 18, stakes shall be returned on any unpaid or unsettled bets. Paddy Power operates a Think 21 policy that requires staff to request verification of age from any person who appears to be under the age of 21. Failure to produce ID will mean the person will not be allowed to place a bet and will be asked to leave the shop.

Customer's Responsibility

It is the customer’s responsibility to make themselves aware of the Paddy Power Betting Rules. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that bets are written clearly and that spelling, timing, instructions and staking are correct and cannot be misconstrued. Customers should write their own instructions but should a member of staff undertake to do so, to meet a customer’s convenience, the onus of responsibility for seeing that such instructions are written clearly and correctly shall be on the customer and the customer shall not have any claim against Paddy Power in the event of such instructions being incorrect. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that bets are placed on time and the market is not closed for betting. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that there is no rule of a Sport Governing Body or a term of their contract of employment prohibiting them from placing a particular bet. If such a bet is taken, this bet will be void. Customers should check receipts to verify their bet and that the amount paid has been correctly recorded by the Paddy Power EPOS system. Paddy Power cannot allow for mistakes, nor accept responsibility for any errors or omissions in respect of the announcing, publishing or marking of prices, handicap values, point values, runners, times, scores or results, despite every effort to ensure their accuracy.

Paddy Power reserves the right to correct any obvious errors.

Receipts must be retained by the customer until all bets on the slip can be fully settled. Returns will be paid to customers on surrender of their receipt. We do not guarantee payment of returns from any bet later than six months after the time the final result affecting settlement of the bet was known. It is the Customer’s responsibility to keep their slip relating to each bet. In the event that a Customer is no longer in possession of their slip relating to any bet, Paddy Power will be under no obligation to make a pay-out to the Customer relating to the specific bet.

Acceptance of Bets

In branches where the Paddy Power EPOS system is in use, the process for accepting bets involves the bets being processed through the scanner and a receipt printed with a unique bet number and image of the bet (or bet details in the case of mark-sense slips) recorded on it. Our staff having completed these two stages and received the bet stake will hand the receipt to the customer. In the event that all of these stages do not occur the bet has not been accepted by Paddy Power. Accordingly, any subsequent claim for payment will be refused. All stakes must be paid in cash at the time a bet is accepted, except where the customer pays using a Credit Card, Debit Card, Paddy Power Card, Paddy Power Free Bet Voucher or Paddy Power Voucher. Paddy Power does not accept Credit Cards in shops located in the United Kingdom. When paying using a Credit Card, Debit Card or Paddy Power Card, the payment must been confirmed before the bet will be accepted. Over and Under-Staking

Where insufficient cash is paid to cover the bet placed, settlement is made in accordance with the stake as recorded on the receipt as follows: Where insufficient stakes are invested, the total stake will be apportioned over the whole slip. With various bets on one slip, the slip will be settled in proportion. In other words, the total return will be calculated from your slip as written, then multiplied by the actual cash paid and divided by the amount you should have paid. Where there is over staking, the excess stake money will be invested in proportion over the whole slip. If your slip shows fewer than the correct number of bets the bet return is calculated in proportion. We multiply what should have been the full return by the stake actually paid. This is then divided by the amount you should have paid. If your slip shows more than the correct number of bets, it is settled to the correct number at the stake unit you request, with the excess cash invested in proportion over the whole bet.

Bets Accepted In Error

Any bets taken on markets that Paddy Power is not offering betting on will be void. Bets are not accepted in shops on Financial Betting and any bets taken in error will be void. Bets on certain Betting-in-Running markets are not accepted in shops. We reserve the right to void or settle at the correct price (and handicap and point values where applicable) any bets taken in error on these markets. If, at the time a bet is taken, the market is suspended (i.e. betting was not available on the market), Paddy Power reserves the right to void the bet or settle the bet at the next available price (and handicap and point values where applicable). Where the outcome of a selection can be considered to impact, be related to or dependent on another, these selections cannot be combined in multiple bets. If bets on related selections are accepted in error, such bets will be settled at a retrospective price (and handicap and point values where applicable) determined by Paddy Power.

Bets Placed On Self-Service Betting Terminals (SSBT's)

The prices offered on the terminal may differ from the prices available elsewhere in the shop. All bets placed on an SSBT will be settled at the odds offered on the terminal at the time the bet is struck. The only exceptions being where there is an option to place a bet at the Starting Price on a horse or greyhound race, or where an obvious error has occurred in which case the correct odds will be applied to the bet. Prices offered on live betting are not guaranteed to be available through an event. The maximum amount that can be won by any customer on a single day is €500,000. Accumulator/Multiple bets are not accepted where the outcome of one part of the bet contributes to the outcome of another. If taken in error, the stake will be divided between the related elements of the bet. If the related selections have different settlement dates, the result with the later settlement date will be voided (e.g. Driver to win the British Grand Prix and the same Driver to win the Championship). Clients must register their bet requests as individuals. Where repeat bets containing the same selections are placed by an individual customer or group/syndicate of customers acting together we reserve the right to limit the total amount of those bets combined to a single maximum pay out. Customers agree to any third party terms and conditions when placing a bet on an SSBT, such T&Cs which will be available on the terminal itself.

Cash Card and Play Card:

The Paddy Power Cash Card and Play Card are only available to existing Dial-a-Bet or paddypower.com account holders. Only one Paddy Power Cash Card or Play Card per account is allowed at any given time. Cash withdrawals are only available once your Dial-a-Bet or paddypower.com account has been open for 24 hours. A Passport or an Irish or UK Driving License must be produced to activate your Paddy Power Cash Card or Play Card in a shop. There may be instances where proof of ID and/or credit card will be requested prior to subsequent cash withdrawals being processed. Customers are responsible for the security of their PIN. Customers will be held liable for all withdrawals made using their card and correct PIN. Only Sterling may be deposited or withdrawn in shops in the UK and Euro in shops in the Republic of Ireland. Sterling deposits/withdrawals to/from a Euro account and Euro deposits/withdrawals to/from a Sterling account will be converted using the daily Paddy Power currency conversion rate. Bets placed with the Cash Card or Play Card in shops will be subject to the remainder of these Shop Rules. Bets placed with the Cash Card or Play Card will automatically settle to the account holder’s online account.

Self-exclusion from Paddy Power Online will result in the immediate cancellation of the Cash Card or Play Card (as applicable). Paddy Power will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that you comply with the terms of your self-exclusion but you agree and acknowledge that Paddy Power has no responsibility or liability whatsoever if you continue to gamble and place bets with Paddy Power and Paddy Power fails to recognise or determine that you have requested to be self-excluded. It is your responsibility to ensure that any information provided by you to us is accurate and up-to-date at all times and Paddy Power shall not be liable to you for any claims, damages or losses suffered by you as a result of your failure to provide us with accurate information and to keep such information up-to-date for any reason whatsoever including, without limitation, any claims, damages or losses suffered by you arising out of or in connection with any failure by you to provide accurate information which results in the receipt of marketing.

Other Sports and Rules

Rules for any sport not referenced below or any additional rules for sports that are referenced below can be accessed online at paddypower.com/aboutUs/Betting.Rules and will govern settlement disputes for Paddy Power Retail Outlets. In case of any conflict between the Shop Rules and those available on the aforementioned website, the Shop Rules will prevail.

Greyhound Bets

Paddy Power only accepts bets on Greyhound races that are offered on the PPTV or SIS service. Any bets accepted in error on Greyhounds running at tracks not covered on our PPTV or SIS service will be deemed void, win or lose. The only exception to this is where Paddy Power are offering Future Greyhounds betting or Early Prices for a particular race/event in Britain or Ireland such as Cup Competitions and the English, Scottish and Irish Greyhound Derby's. Greyhound Racing favourite bets are only accepted on first favourites. Greyhound Racing bets on unnamed second or other unnamed favourites will be void. Maximum Payout limits apply. Please refer to the section relating to Maximum Payouts.

Forecast & Tricast

Paddy Power accepts Forecast singles, doubles and trebles. Forecasts involving four-folds and upwards will only be accepted as part of a Paddy Power specialty betting slip incorporating Forecast four-folds etc. Any Forecast accumulators accepted in error, will be settled as Forecast trebles, with the stake involved being equally split over the number of trebles available. Tricast bets, in which selections must finish first, second and third in the correct order in specified races are accepted in single bets only. Stakes for any Tricast double, treble, etc. accepted in error will be divided equally to cover each Tricast race in Tricast singles only. Horse and Greyhound (BAGS/BEGS) Tricasts are only accepted on races for which a Computer Tricast dividend is declared, or on certain major events as displayed in our offices. Any Tricast bets accepted in error for races where no Tricast dividend is declared will be settled as Computerized Straight Forecasts on the selections nominated to finish first and second, with the selection for third place discounted.

Tote Returns

We accept Irish Tote bets but these bets must be written on designated Tote betting slips. Where bets on Irish Tote returns are accepted on standard Paddy Power slips, they will be settled as SP win/place bets respectively. Bets are not accepted for UK Tote returns with the exception of Placepots, Quadpots and Jackpots. Unless otherwise advertised, where other bets on UK Tote returns are accepted in error, they will be settled as SP win/ place bets respectively. Greyhound Racing bets at Tote returns are not accepted and where taken in error will be settled at SP, with the provision that if there is no SP the bet will be void, unless a price has been taken. Bets at Tote Forecast returns are not accepted, for either horses or greyhounds and if accepted in error, they will be settled at CSF or BAGS/BEGS returns.

Invalid Instruction

Selected shops take Any-To-Come & Conditional bets. This will be clearly advertised in the shop. If the shop does not accept these bets, but these bets are accepted in error, they will be settled on the first instruction/bet only, with all further instructions void. Selected shops take Equally Divided Each-Way bets. This will be clearly advertised in the shop. If the shop does not accept these bets, but these bets are accepted in error they will be settled as standard accumulator bets. ‘Bar’ price instructions or ‘First Show’ price instructions are not be accepted and any such bets taken in error will be settled at SP.

Invalid Stake

The minimum stake unit accepted for bets at Tote returns is as following: Jackpot 50c/50p, Placepot/ Quadpot 10c/10p. If a wager is accepted for less than the above units, the bet will stand at the amount paid.

Invalid Number of Selections

Occasionally, bets will only be accepted with a minimum number of selections (e.g. trebles and upwards). Where this is the case and a bet taken in error with less than the minimum number of selections, Paddy Power reserves the right to void the bet. Occasionally, bets will only be accepted as single bets (i.e. no multiples will be allowed). Where this is the case and a non-single bet is taken in error, the stake will be equally divided across the legs of the bet and settled as a number of single bets.

No More Bets Time

Paddy Power accepts bets on markets up to the No More Bets time for that market. If the time a bet is accepted (as determined by the time printed on the receipt) is after the No More Bets Time, the bet will be void, win or lose. There are only two exceptions to this which are as follows: If Betting-in-Running is available, the bet will be placed on the Betting-in-Running market at the price (and handicap and point values where applicable) available at the time the bet was placed. This applies to all bets with the exception of Racing bets and bets placed on Soccer Coupons neither of which will go onto the Betting-in-Running markets. If the bet is placed on a Soccer Coupon, the soccer match is underway less than five minutes, the score is still 0-0 and there have been no red cards in the match then the bet will stand at the price (and handicap and point values where applicable) that the customer would have received if the bet was placed immediately before the match kicked-off. The No More Bets Time is recorded for all events in the Paddy Power EPOS system and is set at the discretion of Paddy Power. Paddy Power reserves the right to modify the No More Bets Time should a technical issue prevent it being set correctly or should information subsequently become available that would have impacted the No More Bets Time. In shops where the Paddy Power EPOS system is not in use, the top copy of a bet must stay in our possession and staff members are instructed not to hand the top copy back to clients under any circumstances. If for any reason the top copy is returned to a client, the bets on that slip will be declared void. In shops where the Paddy Power EPOS system is not in use, an ‘Off Slip’ is processed by the cash register and security camera. Thereafter any bet on the market for which the ‘Off-Slip’ applies that bears a higher serial number than that of the ‘Off-Slip’ will be void. Where an ‘Off-Slip’ has not been processed for a market, the No More Bets Time in the Paddy Power EPOS system (even though it is not in use in the shop) will be used and any bets taken after this time will be void.

Price

If a customer wishes to ‘take a price’ on their bet (as opposed to betting at SP), they must write the current price (and handicap and point values where applicable) on the bet slip before presenting it to a member of staff. If the customer does not do this, the bet will be determined to be an SP bet if SP betting was available. If only fixed price betting was available, the bet will be assigned the price (and handicap and point values where applicable) at the time the bet was taken. If there are any blatant errors in prices transmitted, marked up or initialled by a member of our staff, the bet will be settled at the correct price (and handicap and point values where applicable) at the time the bet was placed. All prices (and handicap and point values where applicable), including Betting-in-Running, are subject to fluctuation and bets will be settled at the price (and handicap and point values where applicable) that was valid at the time that that bet was accepted (as determined by the time printed on the receipt). Every effort is made to quote Scorer odds (first, last, first for team, anytime etc.) for all possible players. Odds for other players are available on request and will count as winners if they score, even if not listed in the market. The retrospective price will be determined by Paddy Power if betting was not available. Paddy Power advertises prices on Coupons, in the press and various other locations. These are guide prices only and therefore subject to fluctuation. On occasion, the prices available may differ between Paddy Power Retail outlets and paddypower.com. We reserve the right to settle all bets placed in our Retail outlets based on the price available in our EPOS till system at the time of bet placement.

Unclear Instructions

The onus is on the customer to clearly specify their intended bet. Where a customer’s bet instructions are ambiguous, Paddy Power reserves the right to interpret the bet and settle it accordingly. The customer’s previous betting patterns can be taken into account when interpreting their intentions. Paddy Power reserves the right to split the stakes equally between various possibilities in the case of unclear instructions. Where the customer has drawn a line drawn across a slip, this is taken to indicate the end of the bet above the line and the start of the bet beneath it, except where the customer has made it clear that this does not apply.

Horse, Greyhound & Virtual Racing – General

Bets are taken for the day of issue, unless clearly specified on the bet. Named selections - If you specify a name, then that name will stand as your selection, irrespective of it being incorrectly numbered or wrongly timed. Numbered selection - If you specify a numbered selection and do not name the selection, then that number will stand as your selection, irrespective of an incorrect price taken. Selection with a Price - If no selection name or number is specified and a price is specified, the price will determine the selection. Names incorrectly written - An incorrectly spelled selection is not necessarily invalid, so long as the backer’s intention is clear. Should a named selection be incorrectly written so that more than one horse in the same race could conceivably have been intended, the stake, or part of the stake affected, will be divided equally between or among the selections concerned. Two or more selections in same race - In multiple bets, stakes will be divided equally in all sections of the bet where the selections clash. Other bets where no instructions are given will be settled as a Computer Reversed Forecast (for two selections) or Full Cover Reversed Combination Computer/Forecasts (for more than two selections) with the total stake divided equally over the relevant bets. Selection(s) repeated in multiple bets - If the same selection is included more than once in a multiple bet, the second and subsequent times it is written will be treated as a non-runner. If you include two or more selections from the same event in a multiple bet, stakes will be divided equally in all parts where the selections clash. If, however, one of these selections is also entered for another race on that day the bet will be settled for the race in which they do not clash. Horses and greyhounds with the same name - If a horse and dog of the same name run on the same day, and it is not clear which is the selection, in horse multiple bets the horse will count as your selection and in greyhound multiple bets the greyhound will count as your selection. Single bets and multiple bets containing both horses and greyhounds will be settled on the horse unless your bet is placed after one or other of the two selections has run, in which case it will be settled on the one still to run. Where a horse or greyhound has the same name as a virtual selection, the horse or greyhound selection will count unless the virtual selection is clearly specified. Where two horse racing selections have the same name and are running on the same day, bets will be taken as being for the primary race (as determined by Paddy Power), unless it is clearly specified which race the bet should apply to. No bet instructions - Where all selections are made, from different events, and a single stake is stated then the bet will be settled as win only as follows: 1 selection as a Win Single; 2 selections as a Win Double; 3 selections as a Win Trixie; 4 selections as a Win Yankee; 5 selections as a Win Canadian; 6 selections as a Win Heinz; 7 or more selections as full-cover doubles, trebles, etc. These win bets will be settled as each-way only when this is stated on the betting slip. Instructions for Through-The-Card Greyhound Racing bet, or 1st race, 3rd race etc. will be considered as timed in the Racing Post, or in its absence the National press, excepting errors or omissions. All multiple and Through-The-Card bets on unnamed greyhound selections must have the correct meeting and the times stated, otherwise the bet, or affected part of the bet will be void. However, in cases where the meeting is omitted, but collective race times are written, making it clear that only one particular meeting can be intended, the bet will stand for that meeting. Where two meetings are held at the same track on the same day, the particular meeting for which the bet is intended must be clearly indicated. When it is not indicated, the bet will be deemed to be for the first meeting at which all the timed selections are still to run.

Horse, Greyhound & Virtual Racing - Favourites Or Unnamed Selections

Where a selection is timed but no meeting is stated (or a meeting stated that is not taking place), all single and multiple bets stand for the meeting which has a race at the time you state, with stakes divided accordingly if there is more than one meeting with a race at that time. Where a selection is untimed and no event or meeting is stated (or untimed and a meeting stated which is not taking place), all single bets (including Forecasts and Tricasts) stand for the next race to be run after your bet has been accepted, provided that the race is covered in Full Service* and subject to the following: If the selection is indicated by a number(s) which can apply to greyhound racing, your bet will stand for the next greyhound race to run otherwise your bet will stand for the next horse race to run. If there is more than one horse meeting with a race at the same time, then your single stake will be divided accordingly. In multiple bets the selection will be void. Meeting stated but no time or incorrectly timed - If your selection is incorrectly timed, all single bets (including Forecasts, Tricasts etc.), will be settled on the meeting which does have a race at the time you state. If your selection is untimed or if there is no meeting with a corresponding race time then all single bets will be settled on the next race to run at the meeting stated. In all multiple bets the selection will be void unless the sequence of selections written on the slip make the intended time clear. If a price has been taken on a numbered selection and it is clear as to the specific selection and race on which that price was available at the time you placed your bet, the bet will stand for that race irrespective of the race time written on the slip. No selection stated - Provided that either a race time or a meeting is stated, your bet whether win or each-way, will stand for the 1st Favourite in that race. This rule also applies when the words ‘number’ or ‘Trap’ is written without a numbered selection been stated. Unnamed Favorite by race order - When an unnamed favorite is selected and you indicate the race you want by the order it appears on the race-card then your bet will be taken as the first favorite in that race unless specifically otherwise stated. Combination/T-T-C times - Where combination or accumulative bets are involved and the client makes clear the exact time stated, such that only one particular meeting can be intended, he will be on at that meeting, even if some of the advertised race times clash with races at another meetings. Thus if the bet is a Yankee 2.00, 2.35, 3.05, 3.40 and those are race times at Ascot, the bet will be on that meeting even though there are other meetings with race time at 2.00 and 3.05. Greyhound Racing bets for unnamed selections which nominate a meeting (other than the BAGS/BEGS meeting) due to take place on a different day, will be void unless the future day or date is clearly stated.

Horse, Greyhound & Virtual Racing - Double Engagements

An untimed single bet for a selection which is doubly engaged will be taken as for the first race in which it is entered to run, unless an ‘if absent’ selection is also given on the slip, when this will be taken as timing the bet for the race where both are engaged. Where a selection is doubly engaged and is timed by the customer, it will be settled as a bet for that timed race only. Where it is untimed, or incorrectly timed, the bet will be on the first race in which the selection is entered to run, after the time that the bet was placed. If two selections, one of which is doubly engaged, are included in a double, treble or accumulator and run in the same race, the one which is doubly engaged will be deemed to be timed for the race in which they do not clash. If both are doubly engaged, the selection written first will be timed for the race in which it runs, and the other timed for the race in which they do not clash. This does not apply to single bets, which are treated as entirely separate bets.

Horse, Greyhound & Virtual Racing - Forecasts & Tricasts

Where instructions are given merely for Forecast or F/C, the selections must finish first and second in the order written. Written instructions for a selection with the field, or a selection written against the field, will be taken as for the selection to win. Instructions for the field with, or the field against, will be taken as for the selection to be second. Where three or more selections are made for a straight Forecast bet settlement will be made as a full combination of Forecasts. When a smaller number of combinations than the full permutation are required, this must make this clear. Thus €2 combination Forecast ABC, with €6 invested, will be settled as 6 x €1 Forecasts, unless the backer writes 3 x €2 F/C AB AC BC. Where a permutation is used which could apply equally to Forecasts and Tricast bets, and there is no specific instructions as to which applies, the bet will be settled as for Forecasts, (excepting cases as covered under our general practice rule under Claims and Disputes). When only one selection is nominated a bet marked Forecast will be settled as a win single, or as an each-way single in the case of a reversed/dual Forecast. Where a backer nominates for a Forecast two selections in different races, the stake will be invested as win double if the instructions are for straight Forecast, or each-way double if instructions are for reverse/dual Forecasts.

Promotion

Where a client nominates a dual Forecast in a race for which a straight Forecast is declared, the stake will be divided and invested as two straight Forecasts. Only named selections or race-card numbers will be accepted in Tricast bets, with the name taking precedence where there is a discrepancy, and any Tricast which contains an unnamed favorite, then that selection will be settled as a non-runner.

Horse Racing - Tote Returns & Shoot 6

In the event of less than six selections (for Placepot or Jackpot) or four selections (for Quadpot) being entered and it not being clear which race was omitted, the bet will be void. In the event of less than six selections (for Placepot or Jackpot) or four selections (for Quadpot) being entered and it is clear which race(s) were omitted, the favorite will be substituted for the missing selection(s). Ambiguous selections will be substituted by the favorite.

Sports

Where the team or player has been specified but the market has not, bets will be taken as being for the primary market that team or player is involved in (as determined by Paddy Power). If the same named team is playing in more then one fixture on any one day/weekend, bets will be settled on the primary event (as determined by Paddy Power) If it is not clear whether a bet is intended to be for the First, Anytime or Last Scorer the bet will be settled as the First Scorer. Where a customer has specified a player by name and without any other distinguishing information (such as price) and there is more than one player with the same name, the player with the lowest advertised price will be taken as the selection. In the event of two or more players being quoted at the lowest advertised price, the stake will be equally split between the two possibilities. Where markets are offered with more than one set of each-way terms (e.g. in Golf ) and customers do not clearly specify which each-way terms they would like, bets will be settled using the each-way terms with the lower number of places. Where the price taken indicates the customer’s intended market, this will govern settlement. Where a dispute arises over a customer’s intended selection and a named selection and a price both appear on a docket, the named selection will take precedence over price in determining the customer’s intention.

Numbers

When numbers bets are placed but not clearly identified for any specific game or draw, such bets will be settled on the first numbers game drawn after the bet was placed where the selected numbers fit the criteria of that specific draw. Where there it is not clear whether bets should be on the Irish Numbers of UK Numbers, it will be taken as being on the Irish Numbers. Where numbers are placed but not clearly identified for any specific draw within a game, the bet is taken as being on the main (i.e. first) draw. Where it is not clear whether bets are to include the bonus ball or not, it will be taken as not including the bonus ball. Where it is not clear which bet type is intended, it is assumed to be a straight accumulator of all the numbers selected (i.e. all the numbers must be drawn for the bet to win). Where the same number is chosen more than once in the same bet, only the first instance of the number is used and other instances are ignored. Where a number written by a customer is ambiguous, Paddy Power reserves the right to interpret what that number is or omit that number from settlement (i.e. 5 numbers becomes 4, 4 numbers becomes 3 etc.).

Settlement Rules

In any horse, greyhound or virtual race of fewer than 5 starters, all place stakes will be treated as win . Each-way accumulative bets are settled win-to-win and place-to-place. Except in specific Place-Only markets, place bets are not accepted unless at least an equal amount is invested to win. Where there is excess place money over win money in each-way bets, then that part of the bet will be void, win or lose. For Forecast bets, there must be a minimum of three runners in the race. Otherwise the Forecast selected will be void. Forecast bets will be settled from the returns declared by the Computer Straight Forecast or BAGS/BEGS F/C. Tricasts will be settled in accordance with the official computerized return, or by a calculated method as may be advertised or displayed in our shops from time to time on major events. Where a favourite has been specified in Tote returns bet and there are joint favourites, the runner with the lowest numerical race card number will be the selection. Where a winning Jackpot bet is placed at Tote returns and the Jackpot is not won, bets will be settled as SP win accumulators. Where a winning Placepot (or Quadpot) bet is placed at Tote returns and the Placepot (or Quadpot) is not won, bets will be settled as SP place accumulators. The Shoot 6 is a Paddy Power Specialty bet based on the aces advertised/known as Scoop 6. The customer selects a horse (or the unnamed favourite) in each of the six nominated Scoop 6 races. For a €2 stake, a Shoot Six is settled as follows: A €1 SP win accumulator plus a 25% bonus if all six selections win the place dividend as declared in the Scoop 6. Should races other than the Scoop 6 races be selected, the bet will be settled as an SP accumulator (with no bonus) and a standard placepot bet.

Voiding Bets

In all cases where the term ‘void’ is used within these rules, settlement will be as follows:

Single bets - stakes will be refunded.

Multiple bets - void selections will be treated as non-runners within the bet. Paddy Power reserves the right to refuse payment on any bet that cannot be substantiated by the Paddy Power EPOS system or void any bet which we are satisfied is not bona fide. In the event of Paddy Power’s records being destroyed or interfered with we reserve the right to refuse payment on any bet. If at the time the bet was taken, the outcome of the market was resolved or the customer could have had an unfair indication of the outcome, then the bets involved will be void. If Paddy Power believes there has been price rigging, we reserve the right to declare the bets concerned void. Where there is evidence of Pool rigging, we reserve the right to limit payments on any Tote returns bet to a maximum of twice the SP win or place accumulator odds respectively. Where there is evidence of price, race, match or event rigging, we reserve the right to withhold payment pending the outcome of any subsequent investigation and ultimately to declare bets on that event as void. Where evidence of rigging exists or where there is evidence of a series of bets each containing the same selection, having been placed by or for the same individual or by a syndicate of individuals, we reserve the right to require claims for payment to be submitted in writing to our Customer Service Department. Betting slips presented on behalf of third parties may be voided at Paddy Power’s discretion.

Money-Back Specials & Concessions

Paddy Power will quite regularly run Money-Back Specials or Concessions (such as Guaranteed Prices) in shops. These offers may be run in some or all shops. All Paddy Power Money-Back Specials and Concessions are subject to Paddy Power Betting Rules. Most Paddy Power Money-Back Specials and Concessions have specific terms and conditions associated with them which will be advertised in shops. Some Paddy Power Money-Back Specials and Concessions only apply to specific speciality slips or coupons. These only apply to bets placed on these slips. Where a Concession bonus applies for Forecast doubles or trebles, the bonus is added to the calculated total return, i.e. excluding any leg by leg bonus. Unless stated otherwise, all Money-Back Specials are subject to a maximum refund of €50/€50 per customer and Concessions are subject to a maximum stake of €50/€50 per customer. Maximum Payouts

It is the duty of all customers to stay within the limits mentioned hereafter. The limits apply to both single and multiple type bets. Where a multiple bet (i.e. any bet other than a single bet) has been placed which involves events with different maximum payout limits then the limit which will apply to the multiple in its entirety will be either: (i) the lowest limit; or (ii) an amount equal to ten times the total prize fund of the event, whichever is lower. All bets are subject to a maximum payment to any one customer, (or as set out below, any group of related customers) in any one day irrespective of stakes, odds or number of winning lines as listed below. Other than as set out below, a bet is accepted on the basis that it is the investment of one customer. All maximum payout limits apply to any one customer, or group of customers acting together, who have placed bets containing the same selections, including where placed in a series of bets, at a range of prices, over a number of days using different betting accounts and/or across different betting channels. Should we have reason to believe that a number of bets have been placed this way, the total payment of all those bets combined will be limited to one single maximum payout. “Full Service” means where full details (betting, official off-times and results) are advertised by SIS or TurfTV for horse races or international greyhound races or for Irish greyhound racing, Irish greyhound tracks which are covered by Turf TV and Shelbourne Park (Saturday fixture only). The onus of responsibility rests firmly with the customer to ensure that he/she stays within the limits outlined below. We reserve the right, in our discretion, to apply the limits.

Horse Racing

We pay double result on all horse racing selections running in Ireland and the UK which are covered in Full Service. Double result/first past the post bets are subject to the maximum payout limits set out in the table below (Note: applies only to meetings covered by Full Service). The above limits apply even where a customer has taken prices, and except in the following cases: Any bet in Ireland or the UK which includes a selection which is not covered in Full Service (i.e. point to point meeting) or for Virtual Racing, are subject to a maximum payout of €50,000. Any bet which contains a selection running at a race meeting in any country outside of Ireland and the UK where race results are not covered in Full Service is subject to a maximum payout of €50,000.

Future Racing bets are subject to a maximum payment of €250,000.

The maximum payment to any one customer betting on the Tote via Dial-a-Bet in respect of any one day’s UK Jackpot or Placepot bets is €50,000 and €10,000 for Quadpots. Quadpots are also subject to a maximum payment of twice the total Tote pool, or twice the SP place accumulator returns, whichever is the lesser. Where we believe the Tote return has been affected by rigging we reserve the right to settle all Tote bets at the returned SP or its place equivalent.

Greyhounds

Future Greyhounds bets are subject to a maximum payment of €100,000.

The maximum payment to any one customer in respect of any one day’s greyhound bets in the UK for which all selections are covered in Full Service is €100,000. Bets accepted at Irish greyhound tracks and UK tracks not covered by Full Service are subject to a maximum payment of €10,000. Races shown live on SKY or terrestrial TV will be subject to a maximum payout of €25,000.

Soccer/Football

The maximum that can be won on a football bet depends on the event and market, as set out in the table below: Senior Men’s only post qualification:

Racing Rules - Horse Racing

General Settlement Of Bets

Horse racing bets are automatically settled on a double result basis unless otherwise stated or as detailed in the double result section herein. Future Racing bets are settled on the Rules of Racing unless otherwise advertised. Where a result is amended after the weigh-in such an amendment will be ignored for settlement purposes. The advertised times of races, the runners, returns and results as published in the Racing Post (or the national press) will govern settlement of all bets, excepting errors and omissions. Unless otherwise provided for in these rules, all bets will be settled at starting price, with the place part of each-way bets settled as per place terms set out in these rules.

For overseas racing please refer to overseas racing section.

In the event of a walk-over named or unnamed selections will be void and treated as non- runners for settlement purposes. Queries regarding errors should be made within 14 days of settlement of the bet. In a Dead Heat, the stake money on a selection is divided by the number of runners involved in the Dead Heat. The full odds are then paid to the divided stake with the remainder of the stake money being lost. When a selection is made void or does not run, then for single bets the stake will be returned. In accumulative bets the stake will run on to the remaining selection(s) with a double becoming a single and so on up.

Abandonments/Postponements/Re-Run Races

If a race programme is abandoned or postponed bets will be void.However, on occasions when a major race is postponed we reserve the right to advertise and apply the following: Bets accepted after 10am on the day of the overnight declarations will stand until that race is run, so long as the overnight declarations stand, unless cancelled by prior mutual agreement. If races are set back in time on a day because of the weather, settlement of all bets will be ruled by the original advertised times. If a race is re-run, betting in the first race will rule settlement, and horses which ran in the first race but did not start in the second will be considered losers. In the event of a race being abandoned after the off and the entry has not been reopened, bets on any subsequent race ran within 48 hours will stand.

Each-way Betting

Each-way accumulative bets are settled win-to-win and place-to-place. In any race reduced to fewer than five starters, each-way bets will be taken as ‘all-to-win’ given that there are no places available. In accumulative wagers, the bet reverts to normal place odds according to the number of runners in each race. 'Place bets' are not accepted unless at least an equal amount is invested to win, with the exceptions being Tote betting and on the occasions that we offer 'place only' betting on individual races as a special offer. Where there is excess place money over win money in each-way bets, then that part of the bet will be void, win or lose. When special place betting is offered for a race, this will rule settlement for all place bets on that race. The following governs settlement of the place part of each-way bets: Handicaps of 16 or more runners: 1/4 odds for the first four places

Handicaps of 12-15 runners: 1/4 odds for the first three places

All other races of 8 or more runners: 1/5 odds for the first three places All races of 5, 6 or 7 runners: 1/4 odds for the first two places All races of less than 5 runners: all place stakes will be treated as win stakes. From time to time we may offer promotions that pay out on extra placings in a horse race. In these instances we reserve the right to alter the standard place terms as set out above (e.g. we may offer to pay out 5 or 6 places in a handicap with 16 or more runners but to do so at 1/5 of the odds as opposed to standard 1/4). These promotions are not confined to handicaps. The onus is on the customer at all times to check the each way terms on offer particularly in those races where we are offering additional place payouts. For overseas racing where we pay pari-mutuel returns the each way terms will be as determined by the local pari-mutuel rules.

Favourites

Starting price bets will be accepted each-way for first favourites, win-only for second favourites, and each-way for first favourites only in greyhound racing. The favourite is the selection quoted in the official starting price returns at the shortest odds. The second favourite is the horse quoted at the next shortest odds. If two horses are quoted at the same odds and these odds are shorter than those quoted against any other horses, then these two are equal first favourite and equal second favourite. If two or more co-favourites are thus selected, the stake will be divided equally between them. When a returned favourite does not come under starter’s orders and is withdrawn, then that unnamed favourite will be treated as a non-runner with bets on the second favourite settled on the second favourite. The only exceptions to this provision are speciality bets such as Jackpot or Placepot bets where, if there is a withdrawn favourite, the next lowest priced horse is the one taken as to substitute for a non-runner that under the rules has to be replaced by the ‘favourite’.

Double Result

Double result is only applicable to horse racing in Ireland and the UK and overseas meetings (with the exception of European racing and Latin American racing) where SIS return an industry SP. Double result means if your horse is first past the post you get paid, however, should your horse be awarded the race or promoted to a place, as a result of a stewards enquiry or an objection which is announced before the ‘weigh in’ or ‘winner alright’, we will still pay you.

Double result does not apply to the following bets or circumstances:

Future Racing bets.

Bets which rely on Tote dividends ie. Jackpots, Placepots etc which are settled on the Rules of Racing. Any horse disqualified for taking the wrong course or for carrying an incorrect weight.

Races which are declared void.

Where there is an official correction to the result by the judge or SIS prior to the ‘weigh in’ and any races which are declared void before the ‘weigh in’ for which Rules of Racing will apply. All bets on horse racing outside of Ireland and the UK, where an industry SP is not returned, are settled on a Rules Of Racing basis only. All bets placed on Betting in Running markets will be settled on a Rules of Racing basis only. We offer Double Result on Place Betting, Betting Without Favourite, Fallers Insurance, Combined Horses & all Insurebet Markets.

Power Prices, #WhatOddsPaddy or Specials

Double result does not apply to the Aintree Grand National.

Future Racing

For the avoidance of doubt, Future Racing and Antepost bets refer to the same market type and either term may be used interchangeably. All Future Racing bets are accepted and settled on a Rules of Racing basis only. Future Racing bets are accepted at quoted prices, up to and including the day prior to the event, on the basis of all in, run or not, entered or not .Therefore selections not taking part in the race/event concerned are losers. Future Racing bets are those placed at our quoted prices on horses and prior to the race becoming classed as ‘day of event’ (day of event is a term used to describe the time at which overnight declarations are made, usually 10am on the day preceding the race (or two days for certain Group 1 races) for horse racing and the day of the race for greyhounds). All bets placed after the overnight declaration stage are settled in accordance with our early prices/day of race rules. In line with principals laid down by Tattersalls Rules of Racing, Future Racing bets will be void under the following circumstances, otherwise bets stand:

a. If the race is abandoned or declared void.

b. If the venue of the race is altered or postponed to a later date at a different track. c. If the race is postponed to a later date at the same track with entries totally reopened bets placed after the initial entries are void, but bets placed prior to the initial entry stage will stand. All bets will stand if a race is postponed to later date at the same track with the same entries, if the bet was placed before or after the initial entries stage. d. If the horse is balloted out or eliminated under Jockey Club rules single bets will be void. In any such cases, accumulative Future Racing bets will stand on the remaining legs, at the prices laid on the selections in those races, with a double becoming a single, a treble becoming a double, etc. e. In the event of horses being withdrawn under Jockey Club/Turf Club rules, to limit the number of entries taken part, these horses shall be void. The liability of a layer against horses remaining will be reduced on both win and place parts of such bets, in accordance with the rate to be announced before the race by Tattersalls Committee, dependant on the odds currently available against the withdrawn horses at the time of withdrawal. All bets are executed at the price ruling at the time of handing in of the bet. f. Any horse that does not qualify for, or is expunged from a race will be settled as a loser. Bets taken on a horse after they have not qualified by the applicable qualifying date will be voided. We reserve the right to correct any palpable error. Win doubles, trebles, etc are calculated at full accumulative odds. Each-way doubles and trebles etc. are settled win-to-win, place-to-place, and for the place part of such bets, the fractional odds pertaining at the time of acceptance. Place only bets, conditional bets and Forecast bets are not accepted on Future Racing bets. When the same selection is backed to win two or more races/events in Future Racing bets, special odds are applicable. These special odds will supersede the accumulative odds calculated from the individual event prices irrespective of the fact that the individual event prices may be endorsed on the slip. If special odds were not available, the stake will be divided equally as singles at the prices available at the time the bet was placed.

Non-runner No Bet

Future Racing betting ceases at 10am on the day of the overnight declaration stage and all bets placed after that stage will be 'non-runner no bet', i.e. your bet stake will be refunded if your horse fails to compete. Tattersalls Rule 4 may apply.

Late Withdrawals - Tattersall's Rule 4

In all horse races, excluding Future Racing bets, if a horse is withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, bets will be settled in accordance with Tattersalls Rule 4(c), which says that backers of the withdrawn horse will have their stakes refunded. When there has not been time for the market to reform, deductions are made from winnings (exclusive of stake) according to the table below. In cases of more than one withdrawal in a race, the total deduction will not exceed 90 cent/pence. When there has been time to reform the market, deductions will apply only to bets at prices struck prior to the announcement of the withdrawal. The above scale will also apply in the case of non-runners in early price races and will be used for other events where we specifically advertise, either in these rules or at the event itself that Tattersalls Rule 4 (abbreviated to Rule 4) may apply. For withdrawals relating to Future Racing, advertised early prices and greyhounds please refer to the appropriate section.

Reserves

The price of any reserves which run, will be offset against any Rule 4 deduction applicable from the nonrunner( s). If a reserve is priced in our Early Prices Lists and subsequently becomes a Non Runner there shall be no Rule 4 deduction as a result of the withdrawal. However if a reserve takes the place of a withdrawn horse and therefore becomes an official runner after the racecourse declaration stage (ie 45 minutes before the first race) then there will be a Rule 4 deduction applicable from that time onwards if it subsequently is withdrawn.

No Official Sp Returned (UK & Ireland)

Selections in races where no official SPs are returned from racecourses in the UK or Ireland will be settled at the industry SP (if returned). If no official SP or industry SP is returned bets will be settled as following: All bets where no price is taken (including Forecasts, Tricasts and unnamed favourites) will be settled at the last price offered by Paddy Power immediately prior to the commencement of the race. Where no ‘show’ prices are displayed for horse racing, bets will be settled at the appropriate Tote returns and all greyhound racing bets will be void. Bets on unnamed favourites and second favourites will stand for races where an official or industry SP is returned, but will be void if neither SP is returned. Note: For Tote Placepot/Quadpot bets – when no official SP is returned and an industry SP is returned in its place, Tote bets on unnamed favourites are settled on the Tote favourite and not the industry SP favourite. Bets accepted at our advertised prices after 10am on the day of the overnight declarations are not Future Racing bets and will be settled in accordance with the terms advertised. Prices advertised for ‘early price’ races are available subject to fluctuation up to the time as displayed in our offices. In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets for the remaining horses in that race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with Tattersall’s Rule 4 (c), based on the price of the withdrawn horse at the time of withdrawal (see table above). Should any greyhound be withdrawn from an advertised ‘early price’ greyhound race all bets on that race shall be settled at Starting Price.

Show/Screen Prices

Should a horse be withdrawn, and where Tattersall’s Rule 4(c) would apply, no prices may be laid after the withdrawal unless the market has reformed. Any such bets laid in error will be settled at SP or the next immediate price offered after withdrawal, whichever is the greater. Should any greyhound be withdrawn all bets placed at a show price prior to withdrawal on that race will be settled at Starting Price.

Forecasts

Subject to the following rules, we accept Forecast singles, doubles and trebles as part of our normal business. Any Forecast accumulators accepted in error, which do not comply to the format and conditions above, will be settled as Forecast trebles, with the stake involved being equally split over the number of trebles available. Forecast bets are settled from the returns declared by the CSF or BAGS/BEGS F/C. Any bonus for Forecast doubles or trebles is added to the calculated total return, i.e. excluding any leg by leg bonus. Forecast bets are void when: one of the selections does not run, less than three runners take part in the event, or you select unnamed favourites. If an unnamed favourite appears among the named selections, only that part of your bet including the unnamed favourite is void. If for any reason, no CSF or BAGS/BEGS Forecast is returned, bets will be settled by reference to the NSL Straight Forecast Chart. In the event of a selection finishing alone, a Forecast dividend with any other runner will be declared.

Tricasts

Tricast bets, in which selections must finish first, second and third in the correct order in specified races are accepted in single bets only. Stakes for any tricast double, treble, etc accepted in error will be divided equally to cover each tricast race in tricast singles only. Horse and greyhound (BAGS/BEGS) tricasts are only accepted on races for which a computer tricast dividend is declared. Any tricasts accepted for races which no tricast dividend is declared will be settled as computerised straight forecasts on the selections nominated to finish first and second, with the selection for third place discounted. Any tricast which contains an unnamed favourite, that selection will be settled as a non- runner. Tricasts will be settled in accordance with the official computerised return. Should a tricast include a non-runner, the total stake will be invested as a computerised straight forecast on the remaining two selections in the order selected. In the case of combination tricasts the total stake will be invested as a reversed straight forecast on the remaining two selections. If less than three horses finish in a tricast race, a dividend will be declared on those that finish. Should a tricast include two non-runners, the bet will be void. Examples of the above: i) Full cover (24 bets) selections A, B, C, D with D as a non-runner is settled in the following manner: Full cover tricast A, B, C = 6 bets full cover forecast (3 x stake unit) A, B, C = 18 bets ii) The same bet but with C and D as non-runners is settled as following: Full cover forecast (6 x stake unit) A,B = 12 bets plus 12 Single bets void.

Overseas Racing

(With the exception of European and Latin American Racing mentioned below)

All horse racing outside Ireland or the UK are settled on a Rules of Racing basis only. In countries where bookmakers do operate and an official starting price is returned, bets are accepted in accordance with our general rules and any conditional rules applicable to the country concerned, as advertised by Paddy Power. SP bets on Australian racing will be determined by the last Paddy Power price. In countries where there is no starting price market in operation, bets maybe accepted at the following where available: 1. Paddy Power early prices or SIS industry shows. Where Paddy Power offers fixed odds early prices, and no SP option, Forecast and Tricast betting bets will be settled at the last shown Paddy Power price. 2. For selected meetings when an SIS/industry SP is in operation and advertised, bets not at an early or show price will be settled at the SIS/industry SP and not at pari-mutuel returns. (Bets may be accepted at pari-mutuel returns for meetings when an SIS/industry is in operation only if we display this facility - otherwise bets will be settled at the industry SP). 3. When there is no SIS/industry SP in operation bets placed not at an early or show price will be settled at pari-mutuel returns

European Racing

All European races are settled on the official result provided by the local Horse Racing Authority on the racing day after and including Steward Inquiry and objections. When Paddy Power offers prices, the last shown Paddy Power price will be the SP option. Forecast and Tricast bets will be settled at the last shown Paddy Power prices. When there is NO Paddy Power price, the local Tote dividends for all meetings or races will be the official results and payout (Coupling Rules applied).

Forecast and Tricasts (when available) will be taken for the referring Tote.

Coupling Rules in Europe

Pari Mutuel in Europe follows the coupling rules when 2 or more runners have the same ownerships. In Europe when a horse is coupled it is so only for bets in the Win pool (Not Place). If you bet on a horse that is coupled with one or more horses, your bet includes all horses under the said number (e.g. 1, 1a, 1b) or letter (A, B, C...) If one of the entries is a non-runner your bet will stand on the remaining coupled selection. Coupling arrangements will not apply where a fixed price (or Paddy Power last prices/Industry SP) is taken on any European Racing. Bets will be settled based on the published result from the host track.

Latin American Racing

For Latin American Racing, if Paddy Power offers Early Prices, bets taken at SP will be settled at the last price shown by Paddy Power. Forecast and Tricast betting bets will be settled at the last shown Paddy Power prices. Paddy Power will offer Prices for each single runners including when the runners are coupled on the Latin American Totes. Paddy Power will settle the results accordingly to the finishing arrival orders sent by SIS. For Latin American racing if Paddy Power does not offer Early Prices, bets will be settled at the last industry price shown. Forecast and Tricast (when suitable) will be calculated by the Industry Prices.

Promotion

Unlike horse racing in Ireland & UK there are no prices from the racetrack. All bets are settled to the US parimutual returns, except where Paddy Power offer fixed odds prices. In these circumstances bets will be settled at the last shown Paddy Power price. If the surface of a race changes, whatever the track, bets stand. For US pari-mutual returns bets, Paddy Power will pay track odds upon results as declared by the US host track. Only bet types offered by the US host track on races will be accepted by Paddy Power. Paddy Power will refund all bets on a race that is declared by the US host track to be a no-contest i.e., where due to scratched (non-runners) entrants there are insufficient wagering interests remaining to fulfil the requirements of the bet type. Win pools, exacta pools, and first leg of double pools offered in contests in which the number of betting interests has been reduced to less than two. Place pools, Quinella pools, trifecta pools, offered in contests in which the number of betting interests has been reduced to fewer than three. Show pools, Superfecta pools, offered in contests in which the number of betting interests has been reduced to less than four.

All bets placed on US racing are settled by Name.

Dividend: A dividend is declared at the track for the winner and the place horses. All dividends must be halved to get the actual return. E.g. you placed €10 win on Horse No. 1 at Race 1 at Arlington. The selection wins and paid 34.00 on the US Tote. Your winnings would be 170.00 because the tote dividend is declared to a 2$ stake. Place terms: Win bets are settled to the win pool. Each way bets with eight or more runners are settled to win and show pool. In races with five to seven runners the place part of an each way bet is settled to the place pool. Exacta: This bet requires you to select the first and second horses in a race, in their exact order of finish. This can also be reversed at twice the stake. Trifecta (can also be called triacta): You must select the first, second, and third finishers in a race, in their exact order. To finish in any order it involves 6 bets. Coupled horses: Unlike pari-mutuel betting in Europe, in the US when a horse is coupled it is so for all bets, not just win bets. If you bet on a horse that is coupled with one or more horses, your bet includes all horses under the said number (e.g. 1, 1a, 1b). If one of the entries is a non-runner your bet will stand on the remaining coupled selection.

Power Price, #WhatOddsPaddy, Specials

In the event of any non-runner(s) in any of the races from which the above have been selected we reserve the right to revert the bet to SP. ’Jockey specials’ stand irrespective of who actually rides the named selections in the special. Where any of the selections included in the special are non-runners, the bet reverts to SP settlement, with an accumulator settled as a treble and a treble settled as a double etc.

Winning Distance/How Far Will It Win By

Betting on the winning distance will be on races only as displayed.

The winning distance will be that margin, as officially announced between the winning horse and the second. All winning distance bets are settled on a first past the post basis only, i.e. double result does not apply. In the event of a withdrawal resulting in a Rule 4 of 10c or greater in a race where we offer distance betting the Rule 4 amount will be split between the number of distance options. In the event of a selection being withdrawn the not to win price of the favourite will be subject to a reverse Rule 4. e.g. 8/1 shot withdrawn, favourite 1/1 not to win. Reverse rule 4 of 10c applies. Fav not to win settled at 11/10. We will pay double result in accordance with our rules on Distance Specials.

Betting Without

Where we offer prices on an event without a nominated selection, for settlement purposes the finishing position of the 'without' selection will be ignored. Any each-way terms advertised are settled on the actual number of runners who take part in the race, excluding the 'without' selection.

Each-Way terms are specified in race.

Nominate Horses to Finish the Course, etc

All bets are settled in accordance with the official returns in the Racing Post (excluding errors), or in its absence the national press.

Special Win &/Or Place Multiples

Where we quote a price for two or more specified selections in a win or place multiple, settlement will revert to SP if there is a Dead Heat in any leg of the bet.

Horse Match Betting

Where we quote special match betting, all bets are settled Rules of Racing according to the official returns in the following days Racing Post.

Bets are settled on the best finishing position.

For flat racing, in the event of the two named horses not completing the course, bets will be settled on the distance travelled by each horse. For National Hunt races the number of obstacles cleared will decide the outcome. In the event of both horses clearing the same number of fences/hurdles bets will be void.

Bets will be voided in the event of a Dead Heat.

Combined Winning Distances for a Meeting

Distances for each race meeting are settled on a 'first past the post' basis. If any of the scheduled races at a meeting are not run, bets are void unless the maximum quote has been attained. The maximum winning distance per race for a flat race is 12 lengths while a National Hunt race is 30 lengths. This also applies should only one horse complete the race. Distances are as follows:

Nose: 0.05

Short Head: 0.1

Head: 0.2

Neck: 0.3

Half a length: 0.5

3/4 of a length: 0.75

1 length: 1 Etc.

No Finishers

If there are no finishers in a race, it shall be treated as void. Walkovers will be excluded from all markets unless created by the withdrawal of a horse after we have begun quoting a market concerning the race in question, in which case the make-ups will be as follows:

Distances:

Flat: 5 lengths

National Hunt: 12 lengths.

Jockey Number of Winners

If the jockey rides any horse which, according to that days Racing Post he was not scheduled to ride, that ride does not count for the purposes of bets on that jockey.

Today's Hot Pots

How many of the selected horses will win their respective races today? If any of the selected horses are nonrunners all bets are void unless the maximum quote has already been attained.

Winning Favourites

If the favourite is withdrawn the second favourite replaces the favourite for this market. If both the first and second favourites are withdrawn the next lowest horse(s) in the betting counts for this market. If neither an official SP nor industry SP is returned on any of the included races – all bets on this market are void.

Place-Only Betting

In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter's orders, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction based on the Paddy Power place only price of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of the withdrawal, (see Paddy Power Place Only Rule 4 Table below) e.g. Horse X priced at 1/1 in the place only -2 places market, then the rule 4 deduction of 30c based on the 1/1 place price shall apply to the 'place only' betting market. The number of places being paid shall remain constant e.g. If we are originally paying three places and the race is reduced to 7 or less runners we shall still pay 3 places. The only exception to this is when the number of runners is equal to or less than the number of places on offer. In this instance all bets are void. Normal dead-heat rules apply. Double Result concession does apply to this market.

Insurebet 2 places

Price offered is for the horse to win the race. If the horse finishes second the bet stake is returned. In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with Tattersall’s Rule 4(c) based on the win price of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal, (see Tattersall’s Rule 4 table above) e.g. Horse X priced at 4/1 in the win market and 11/4 in the “Insurebet 2 Places” market is withdrawn then a Rule 4 deduction of 20c based on the 4/1 win price shall apply to the “Insurebet 2 Places” market. In the event of a race being reduced to 4 or less runners all bets are void. Normal dead-heat rules apply.

Double Result concession does apply to this market.

Faller Insurance

Price offered is for the horse to win the race.

If the horse falls, unseats the jockey or is brought down the bet stake is returned. It does not apply to horses that Slip Up, Refuse, Run Out or get Carried Out. In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with Tattersall’s R4(c) based on the Win price of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal, (see Tattersall’s R4 table under Horse Racing rules). E.g. Horse X priced at 4/1 in the win market and 11/4 in the “Faller Insurance” market is withdrawn then a R4 deduction of 20c based on the 4/1 Win price shall apply to the “Faller Insurance” market. Refunded bets will be settled as soon as possible but in some cases may take up to an hour. Where disputes arise results will be taken from www.sportinglife.com.

Double Result concession does apply to this market.

Favourites Index

Quotation is made on the basis that the horse which is the SP favourite is awarded 25 points if it wins, 10 points if it is second and 5 points if it is third. Points will be awarded for first 3 places irrespective of Each Way terms. If there are joint or co-favourites in a race, the horse with the lowest race card number is considered, for the purposes of the bet, to be the favourite. If the returned favourite (as published in the following day's tabloid edition of the Racing Post) has not come under starter's orders then, for the purposes of the bet if its price at the time of withdrawal is:

Equal to or greater than 5/1, 5 points will be awarded.

Less than 5/1 but greater than evens, 10 points will be awarded.

Evens or less, 15 points will be awarded.

No Finishers - If there are no finishers in a race, it shall be treated as void. Walkovers will be excluded from all markets unless created by the withdrawal of a horse after we have begun quoting a market concerning the race in question, in which case the make-ups will be as follows: Favourite: 20 points. If the returned favourite dead-heats for one of the places then it will be awarded the average points of the two places involved. For example, a dead-heat for first would be awarded the average of 25 + 10 points = 17.5 points A dead-heat for second would be awarded the average of 10 + 5 points = 7.5 points A dead- heat for third would be awarded the average of 5 + 0 points = 2.5 points

Racing Rules - Greyhound Racing

We will accept bets for greyhound races advertised on our website. Greyhound names, where shown, are displayed for information only, with all bets being settled on the trap number. If a reserve dog runs, all bets stand; however, if an early price is taken and that selection subsequently becomes a non-runner then all bets at that early price are void. In the event of a non-runner in a race with early prices, all bets placed on the race before the withdrawal will be settled at SP. Where a 'no-race' is declared and is subsequently re-run bets are settled on the re-run race. Double result concession does not apply to greyhound racing. Starting price bets will be accepted each-way for first favourites, and win only for second favourites in horse racing and greyhound racing.

Top Trap Betting

All prices quoted are for BAGS/BEGS meetings at the specified tracks unless otherwise stated. Top trap result stands irrespective of vacant traps, reserves running or void races. All trap challenge bets will stand if more than half of the specified races in the named trap challenge market take place. If half of the races or fewer take place, bets on the relevant trap challenge market will be voided. All bets are win only and are available up to the first race time only. If two or more traps record the same number of wins, dead heat rules apply. Should any individual race result in a dead heat for 1st place, all greyhounds concerned will be regarded as having won that race for top trap purposes.

Favourites

Starting price bets will be accepted each-way for first favourites, win-only for second favourites, and each-way for first favourites only in greyhound racing.

No Official SP returned (UK and Ireland)

If no official SP or industry SP is returned bets will be settled as following: Where no ‘show’ prices are displayed for greyhound racing, bets will be settled at the appropriate Tote returns and all greyhound racing bets will be void.

Abandoned Meetings

Coursing bets will be settled in accordance with ICC rules or the respective organization. Bets accepted at our advertised early prices are not Future Greyhounds bets once the trap draw has been confirmed and as such will be settled in accordance with the times advertised. Prices advertised for ‘early price’ races are available subject to fluctuation up to the time as displayed in our offices (normally 10 minutes before the race ‘off time’) or up to ‘first show’. Should any greyhound be withdrawn from an advertised ‘early price’ greyhound race all bets on that race shall be settled at starting price.

Tricasts

Tricast bets, in which selections must finish first, second and third in the correct order in specified races are accepted in single bets only. Stakes for any Tricast double, treble, etc. accepted in error will be divided equally to cover each Tricast race in Tricast singles only. Greyhound (BAGS/BEGS) Tricasts are only accepted on races for which a computer Tricast dividend is declared. Any Tricasts accepted for races which no Tricast dividend is declared will be settled as computerised straight Forecasts on the selections nominated to finish first and second, with the selection for third place discounted.

Betting on Greyhounds in Paddy Power Shops

The following rule applies to bets placed in shops only and differs from rules for bets placed online. If you write the name of the dog on the betslip then you are deemed to have bet on this dog - your stake is NOT transferred to a reserve runner in the event of your dog being withdrawn. This is the case regardless of whether you have the trap number written on the betslip as well. If you simply mark the trap number on your betslip then your stake will be transferred to the reserve in the event of your dog being withdrawn.

Sports Rules - General Rules

Results & Bet Settlements

In the case of football and other sports, bets are settled on the official result published by the official governing body immediately after the match/event is finished. Any subsequent corrections or amendments to this result will not apply for settlement purposes. Paddy Power reserves the right to apply a dead heat reduction on any event where more winners are declared than were originally specified. Please refer to specific rules for individual events. All bets are settled strictly on their merits and no plea of precedence will be accepted.

Non-Runners

Sports bets are accepted on a 'non-runner no bet' basis unless stated otherwise; in this case stakes will be refunded on a player or team withdrawn prior to the start of an event. If you have placed a winning bet on a sporting event run on a 'non-runner no bet' basis and a different player or team is withdrawn, suspended or disqualified in that market, we may apply the equivalent to Tattersalls' Rule 4 (c) to your winnings, based on the price of the selection withdrawn. Certain markets will be offered on an 'all-in compete or not' basis and in this case if a player or team is withdrawn (in any way) before they have taken part in the event then your bet is a loser. In the case of a fixed draw competition where a team/player is withdrawn, suspended or disqualified, we reserve the right to settle any bets on the subsequent prices once the market has been revised without the withdrawn team/player. If a player or team has taken any part in the sporting event once it has officially started and then fails to complete for whatever reason, we will settle your bet as a loser.

Venue Changes

If your team is no longer playing at the venue advertised, your bet will still stand as long as the venue has not been changed to the opponent's ground (or in the case of international matches, as long as the venue remains in the same country). Notwithstanding this rule, in major international tournaments (eg World Cup, European Championships), all venues will be deemed neutral. If the scheduled venue of a match is changed, including if the venue changes to a new venue in a different country, all bets will stand. However, Paddy Power reserves the right to void any bet where we feel that a change of venue has had a significant impact on the prices of the match.

Cup/Trophy Competitions

Unless we advertise other terms, we will settle outright betting on the player or team that lifts the trophy.

Soccer Rules

All bets on football are automatically on the basis of 90 minutes play unless otherwise stated for that particular market. 90 minutes play includes time added on by referee for stoppages. The statistics provided by Official OPTA Data will be used to determine the settlement of any bets which are placed on: (i) a given player to achieve a certain number of shots or shots on target, (ii) the total number of offsides awarded in a match or against a particular team, (iii) the total number of shots on target achieved by both sides, or either side, in a match, (iv) the total number of tackles made by either team in a match, or (v) the total number of free kicks, goal kicks or throw ins in a match. For the purpose of deciding results on handicap betting, a number of goals (or half goals) is added to, or subtracted from, the total goals scored by the away team. Settlement of any handicap betting will be at the special odds shown alongside the match(es), using the actual score in the match adjusted for the handicap.

Enhanced Odds Specials

Customers may only bet on one enhanced odds offer for any one match, we reserve the right to void bets when customers have placed more than one bet. For Power Prices that include multiple players, in the event that one or more player listed does not take part, we reserve the right to settle the bet based on the odds of the remaining players. For Power Prices that include multiple Matches, in the event that one or more Match doesn’t take place, we reserve the right to settle the bet based on the odds of the remaining Matches.

Abandoned, Postponed, Venue Changed Or Unplayed Matches

If a match is postponed, all undetermined bets will be voided as long as the match does not start before 23:59 local time (or if Paddy Power believes that a match will not have started by such time) on its scheduled date. Fixtures that are rearranged before the scheduled kick off date will not be regarded as postponements and all bets will stand, as long as the rescheduled date is within 72 hours of the original kick off time. If the venue of a match is other than is indicated on our website, the bet will stand provided the match has not been switched to the opponent's ground, in which case the match will be declared void. If a match starts but is later abandoned, all undetermined bets will be voided as long as the match is not played to a finish before midnight local time on its scheduled date.

First/Last Goalscorer

Own goals do not count for settlement of first/last goalscorer bets.

Bets taken on first goalscorer will be void if that player does not take part in the game or if he comes on after the first goal is scored. Bets on last goalscorer will be void if that player does not take part in the game or does not come on as a substitute. Every effort is made to quote first/last player to score odds for all possible players. However, odds for other players are available on request and will count as winners if they score the first/last goal even if they are not named in our lists.

Anytime Goalscorer

A player will be considered to be a runner and bets will stand should the player play any part in the match. Goals scored in normal time only count for this market. Goals scored in extra time or in a penalty shootout do not count. Own goals do not count.

Live Betting Goalscorer Betting

Own goals do not count for first/second or subsequent goalscorer. If any goal is an own goal, the result of the following goalscorer market will count for the settlement of the original one e.g. second goal of the game is an own goal. The scorer of the third goal will be settled as the winner for both the second goalscorer and third goalscorer markets.

Card Index

Bets on 'card index' are settled as follows: Yellow card = 10 points; Red card = 25 points. If a player is shown a yellow card and subsequently sent off this counts as 35 points. Bookings will only count for players taking part in the match. Bookings of managers, coaches or off the field of play will not count. Any bookings made during half-time will count, however bookings made after the final whistle do not count. For first booking of more than one player being booked in the same incident the first player to be shown a card by the match referee shall be deemed the winner. Both yellow and red cards count for this market.

Goal Minutes

The goal minutes market is the total of the time in minutes of each goal scored. A goal scored at 23mins 25seconds will be settled as the 24th minute. All injury time goals will be counted as either 45 for injury time at the end of the first half or 90 for injury time at the end of the second half. This bet is 90 minutes only - extra time and penalties do not count. For team goal minutes, own goals count for the team that are awarded the goal.

Extra Time Correct Score

This market applies to the result during the extra time period only. For the purposes of this market, the score shall be deemed 0-0 at the start of the extra time period.

GAA Rules

All bets will be settled on 60 or 70 minutes play respectively at the prices advertised. Player points: Bets will be settled as void if the player does not start the game. The market will be settled on total score (i.e 1 goal = 3pts). Extra time does not count. Additional rules as detailed under the soccer rules article on this site will also apply to GAA events where applicable. All other rules according to Paddy Power online rules.

Rugby Union/League Rules

Unless otherwise stated all rugby bets are settled on 80 mins play.

Abandoned / postponed / rescheduled matches

If a match is postponed bets will stand until 48 hours from the original kick off time after which time they will be void. If the scheduled venue is changed after a bet is placed, all bets will stand provided the match is not postponed by more than 48 hours.. If a game is abandoned bets are void with the exception of first tryscorer bets which will stand if a try has been scored prior to abandonment (last tryscorer bets are void).

First/last tryscorer betting: penalty tries do not count.

Bets: all bets placed on outright markets will be settled on official tournament results. Points deductions will not count when determining the result of outright (season long) markets.

Tennis Rules

General Rules

1. If a retirement occurs before the 1st set is completed:

a. -except for ITF, UTR and exhibition matches, all match bets are voided, if a retirement occurs after the 1st set we pay out on the player that proceeds to the next round of wins the tournament and settle the player that retires as a void. This only applies to the Match Betting market, all other markets are void. When this occurs before the conclusion of the first set all bets not already determined are void. b. - in ITF, UTR or exhibition matches: all match bets (i.e. bets placed on the winner of a given match) will be voided regardless of what stage of the match the retirement occurs. 2. All tennis bets will be settled in accordance with the official website for each tournament or tournaments governing body. 3. In the event of a tennis event not taking place or if a player is given a walkover, bets on this event are deemed void (event refers to a single match-up between players, rather than the tournament itself). 4. If in the event of a change to any of the following, all bets will stand:

(a) A change in court type (indoor to outdoor or vice versa).

(b) A change of playing surface (either before or during a match).

(c) A change of venue.

(d) A change to the scheduling which affects the time of date of a match. 5. Total Games/Handicap related markets - For the purposes of such markets a tie-break is counted as one game. In the event of forfeited points or games, these will count for final settlement.

6. Champions tie Breaks:

In some competitions, matches that reach one set all are decided by a Champions tie-break. If a match is decided by a Champions tie-break then the Champions tie-break will be considered to be the third set. Set betting will be settled as 2-1 to the winner of the Champions tie-break. Any bets taken in error for the Correct Score market or Total Games market in the third set will be void. For the purpose of bets taken relating to Total Games market or Game Handicaps market for the match, the Champions tie-break will be considered to be one game.

7. Maximum Payouts:

The maximum that can be won per customer per match depends on the event and market, as set out in the table below: Singles events only, Grand Slam Events Post Qualification, ATP Masters Series, WTA Tour Championship , ATP or WTA events post qualification with prize fund > £200,000

Match Betting, Set Betting. --> £200,000

All other markets not listed. --> £50,000

All other tennis event types.

Match Betting --> £25,000

All other markets not listed. --> £1,000

Golf Rules

All markets will be settled on result as posted by official tour site on the day after the event. Any subsequent disqualification or amendment of result will be ignored for settlement purposes.

Abandoned / Postponed/ Shortened Event

Should a tournament be shortened, or otherwise affected due to weather conditions the trophy presentation will govern settlement, including tournament groups, matches, place only, top 10 and all other 72-hole markets provided at least 36 holes of the event have been completed. Should 36 holes not be completed then all bets on that event will be void except markets that have already been decided i.e. 'first round 3-balls'. Should there be no further play after a bet is struck that bet will be void. In the event of a postponed event all bets stand.

Outright Betting

In the event of a play-off the result of the play-off will determine the winner of the tournament. Even if three or more contestants take part, such a play-off has the sole purpose of deciding the winner of the tournament and the relative finishing positions of unsuccessful contestants is not affected. For each way bets dead heat rules apply. For example, if each-way terms quoted for a tournament are for the first 4 places, the 3 players tying for third place will be deemed to have dead-heated for third, fourth and fifth place with 1/3 stake lost and 2/3 stake settled at full place odds for each way bets on those players. Any players who withdraw after they have teed-off are considered as players and are therefore losers, except outright bets placed on players after they have teed-off which are void provided that the player takes no further part in the event after the bet is placed, e.g. bets placed after the second round and the player withdraws before the third round - such bets on the withdrawn player are void and we reserve the right to deduct the equivalent Tattersall’s Rule 4 (c).

Tournament Group Betting & Tournament Match Betting

In tournament group betting the winner will be the player with the highest placing at the end of the tournament. Players missing the cut will be eliminated. If all listed players miss the cut the player with the lowest score at the cut will be deemed the winner.

Top Player betting (e.g. Top US Player, Top European Player)

In Top Player betting, the winner will be the player with the highest placing at the end of the tournament Each way bets will be settled in the same way as outright each way bets.

Only the players quoted count for settlement purposes.

In the event of a tie, dead heat rules apply.

2 Ball/3 Ball Betting

Players must complete 3 holes or more for bets to stand.

In 2/3 ball betting the winner will be the player in the pairing or group with the lowest score over 18 holes. Should a player in the 2/3 ball not tee-off all bets in that 2/3 ball are void. However should a player retire during the round, he will be deemed to have played. In the event of a 2/3 ball being rearranged all bets in that 2/3 ball will stand as per original pairings/groups. If a player posts a score but is later disqualified, all bets will be settled on the score that the player initially signs for that round. Signing of the card is deemed as the weigh-in and subsequent disqualification or amendment of result will be ignored for settlement purposes. Odds for a tie are offered in 2 ball betting, therefore in the event of a tie bets on both players are losers and bets on the tie are winners. Dead heat rules apply in the event of a tie in 3 ball betting. Any tournament that applies the Stableford scoring system, the highest point scorer during the round will be deemed the winner.

To Make/Miss the Cut

Bets on players to make/miss the cut will be settled on the official result posted on the tour sites. Players who are disqualified or withdraw before they complete 36 holes are deemed to have missed the cut. PGA Tour: any player who makes the cut or the modified cut (MDF) will be settled as having made the cut (according to the pgatour.com leaderboard). Should 36 holes not be completed then all bets on this market will be void. Players who are disqualified or withdraw subsequent to posting a score equal to or better than the official cut mark (after they have completed 36 holes) will be deemed to have made the cut.

Enhanced win only prices:

When more than one player shares the same lowest score in a tournament and there is no play off, win bets are settled by normal dead heat method outlined in the settlement of bets section. In the event of a play-off the result of the play-off will determine the winner of the tournament only. Place Only/Top 10 Finish/Top 20 Finish:
