Read More »Some of the journeys that the six nation teams have been on in order to receive a grand slam victory has been truly remarkable. Over the years we have been spoiled with some nail-biting matches that really have shaken up the rugby world. Let’s start with Wales, back in 2005. From start to finish, their Six Nation triumph was top draw. They began with a famous win against England, in Cardiff. The first instance of this since 1993, which probably gave them the motivation and momentum to power on through to the end. Despite an unfortunate run of 3 away fixtures, it didn’t seem to phase them as they won all of them; quite convincingly too. Ireland have also broken some records they will be happy to see the back of in involvement in the six nations. Back in 2009, they won the competition for the first time in 24 years. Let’s also not forget England, back in 2013, beating France in their own back yard to complete the grand slam, under Eddie Jones. Let’s also not forget that this was the first campaign for the Australian. These huge grand slam victories can be few and far between, but nonetheless it does keep us excited for future competitions, including this 2022 competition! Here’s hoping for more record breaking. You can follow all the six nations updates on the go and make sure you don’t miss any of the action. If you do miss any of the action, be sure to watch the highlights on BBC.
