No. In this letter to its member Unions in September 2021, World Rugby confirmed that the Global Law Trials covering 50:22 and the Goal-Line Drop Out will not be implemented in the Sevens game. The other law trials announced last year are active in all forms of the game – allowing a single latcher, banning the flying wedge/mini-scrum, and protecting the jackler – and will be refereed across all forms of the game.
